One of the essential items in your bathroom that you might not notice is your ceiling fan. Most of the time we don’t pay much attention to the workings of the ceiling fan unless it starts making noise.

The bathroom fan plays an essential role in keeping the air in your bathroom fresh and preventing a multitude of problems, such as mold, moisture damage or peeling wallpaper.

If your fan has a build-up of dust, this could hinder airflow and make it ineffective.

It is important that the duct from your bathroom fan terminates outdoors, otherwise the moisture from your bathroom could vent into a sensitive area of your home and cause damage. The termination point outside of your house should also be shielded to keep rodents and other pests from entering.

Ducts should have as few bends as possible on them to keep dust and particles from building up in the ducts.
