First of all, carpenter bees don’t actually eat wood, which is a common misconception. These types of bees will just borough through the wood in order to tunnel to find a new nest. It’s good to know that male carpenter bees actually don’t have stingers, but they will fly aggressively around you if you are in their territory. However, females, on the other hand, do have stingers and only will sting as a last resort.
Where are they coming in from though? Well, usually it would be through a hole just big enough in between the roof and the rafters, allowing them to get into the attic, and then its just a matter of time before they make into your house. When you do find the holes where the bees are coming in, the best thing to do is to seal them in with a special sealant. By doing this, you will stop the flow of bees going in and nesting, then breeding, then going back out the year after.
